Check Pricing/Send us an order form Contact us by email System Requirements	The Socrates 7.0 system is a comprehensive material selection tool for oil and gas applications and provides the user access to the material selection decisions and decision logic of a domain expert and the pooled expertise of a distinguished group of oil companies, equipment manufacturers and materials suppliers in selection of CRA. The system also embodies information from other sources such as published literature on lab and field experience related to oil and gas field service as well as proprietary test data on evaluation of specific CRA material classes. The latest upgrade, Socrates 7.0, has been completely updated with new lab and field data, features, functionality and interface. This comprehensive revision brings the power of the state-of-the-art in corrosion/materials technology and computing to global users of Socrates systems The earlier versions of SOCRATES system selected CRAs through material evaluation at five hierarchical levels:
		CRA evaluation based on mechanical strength parameters, heat treatment/cold work and hardness limitations
		Material selection based on characterization of the environment in terms of operating pressure, temperature, pH, H2S, Chlorides, Elemental Sulfur, aeration, Gas to Oil Ratio and Water to Gas Ratio/water cut
		CRA evaluation for stress corrosion cracking (SCC), hydrogen embrittlement cracking (HEC) and sulfide stress cracking (SSC)
		CRA evaluation for resistance to pitting corrosion
		Selection of final set of materials based on application related constraints.
	The current Windows implementation is more flexible in that the user can use and apply constraints at any specific level without regard to the hierarchy. Socrates comes equipped with a database of about 155 alloys that can be accessed by the user from the Socrates interface. Further, the system comes with a cost analysis module that allows the user to compare costs of utilization of different alloys. Socrates 7.0 has been completely re-designed to provide access to the most accurate and current material selection technology in tandem with a superior user experience.
